Horror TBR
I haven’t read a lot of horror, not compared to the amount of fantasy books I read anyway. So this TBR should help with that. I love horror movies and I want to find horror books that I love as much. At the moment there are only a few horror books that I would say I even liked. There are even less that I would want to read again. I’ve either had really bad luck or I’m just terrible at choosing good horror books. The first part of this TBR is very Dracula orientated featuring an unofficial sequel and a biography of Bram Stoker. The rest are books I’ve come…

May Reading Round Up
I hit a bit of a reading slump in May, probably because I was still recovering from an operation and I had nothing much to do except read. So my brain kind of rebelled. I actually got sick of reading because I was tired of not being able to do anything else. I didn’t hit a few of my reading goals this month. Again I read no romance, or books with either an autistic character or by an autistic author (as far as I know because people shouldn’t feel forced to come out). Somehow I read three classics, when I usually barely manage one. But they were quite short, so…

Most Anticipated Books of 2022
Most Anticipated Book Releases 2022 These are all the books being released in the second half of 2022 that I’m most excited for. There were more but at some point they got moved back to 2023. The main two that got moved are Witch King by Martha Wells and The Bone Shard War by Andrea Stewart. Witch King is a new fantasy that I don’t think has anything to do with her previous series but I love Murderbot so I’m so excited for everything she does. And The Bone Shard War is the last book in an epic fantasy trilogy. I’ve read the first book, and I was going to…

Series TBR
I have a big problem with finishing the series that I start. Even though I love these books, for some reason I put off reading the last book or two, and then never come back to them. I think part of the problem is that there can be years between releases and I forget the events pretty easily. I remember a scene or character I had strong feelings about, but I struggle to describe the plot. I loved Kings of the Wyld, but the only scene I can remember is the funeral where they are trying to set the body on fire by shooting flaming arrows at it and failing.…

Queer Books TBR
These are all the queer books I wanted to read in June for pride month but will extend to August and beyond because I’m in a bit of a reading slump. I meant to post this before Pride month, but I’m behind on everything. I read queer books all year long, so this TBR isn’t that different from what I usually read, except this is only queer books. They all have a main character somewhere in the LGBTQ+ rainbow. There’s also a lot of sequels which wasn’t something I meant to do, but will help me complete more series, so I’m going in the right direction. She Who Became The…

April Reading Round Up
This month I read less books but they were a lot longer. I spent a lot of time in hospital waiting for an operation to remove my gallbladder, so I had whole days of nothing but reading. I read half of Fingersmith in one day. I didn’t listen to as many audiobooks because I didn’t do any walking. I’m only recovering now and I’m only going on short walks that wouldn’t be enough time to get anywhere with an audiobook. I also didn’t manage to keep up with my reading goals this month. I didn’t read any romance or books with autistic characters so that will be my priority next…

March Reading Round Up
I had quite a good reading month in March. I read 11 books and only DNF’d one of them, and the rest were all over a three star rating. Most were 4 stars and one was 5 stars which was a re-read that I didn’t mean to read, but it was too tempting because it’s a sequel and I had just re-read the first book. I hit all my reading goals this month. Science Fiction, Epic Fantasy, Classic, Urban Fantasy, Horror, Thriller and a book by an autistic author, and a poc author. Five Unicorn Flush (Reason #1) by T.J. Berry This is the sequel to Space Unicorn Blues, where…
